On Monday 13th of October, from 16:15 to 17:45 CEST, SDGs-EYES is organising a policy event titled “Monitoring SDGs to Protect Citizens from Climate Risks – EO Insights on Wildfires, Heatwaves, and Decision-ready Policy” at the EuroGEO Workshop 2025 in The Hague, Netherlands (World Forum). This year’s event will explore how Earth Observation (EO) data can support sustainable development and protect citizens from climate-related risks such as wildfires and heatwaves.
Building on last year’s EuroGEO workshop, “Harnessing Earth Observation Data for Sustainable Development,” this event will present SDGs-EYES project outputs and the corresponding policy recommendations. The focus is on policy design to support uptake, with a particular emphasis on validating and enriching these recommendations through discussion with experts, policymakers, and other key stakeholders.
The 90-minute slot will take the form of a panel discussion, allowing participants to provide feedback, discuss the relevance of the project outputs for EU policies and beyond, and contribute to shaping robust, decision-ready strategies for climate risk management.
