On Tuesday 7th of November 2023, SDGs-EYES will be presented during the session “Earth Observations in Support of the Sustainable Development Goals: Opportunities and Challenges” under the GEOweek 2023 which will take place in Cape Town, SA.

Monica Miguel-Lago from our partner EARSC will participate in a workshop which aims to showcase the role of Earth Observations and geospatial data in promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In this context, Monica will introduce SDGs-EYES project to demonstrate its capability to track six SDG indicators from three interconnected UN SDGs – climate (SDG13), ocean (SDG14), and land (SDG 15) – using Copernicus data.

After the presentations, she will also join a roundtable discussion to further investigate the multifaceted obstacles and prospects of using EO to drive SDGs forward.
