The European Union Satellite Centre (SatCen), together with the European Space Agency (ESA) and the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC), is organizing the Big Data from Space (BiDS) 2025 conference, to be held in Riga (Latvia), between 29 September – 3 October 2025.
SatCen will showcase its work in the SDGs-EYES project and present how research and innovation support its operational capabilities.
The Big Data from Space 2025 (BiDS) conference brings together experts from industry, academia, EU institutions, and government to discuss the future of Space and Big Data technologies. It is a key platform for sharing user needs, presenting innovative solutions, and shaping future development paths. The event encourages exchange on research, practical challenges, and new applications that are transforming the way Big Data from Space supports users.
In this year’s edition, SatCen will give a presentation in the common SatCen-ESA-JRC booth of the exposition area, titled “R&I as Enablers of SatCen Capabilities”, focusing on how research and innovation strengthen its operational services. The booth presentation will showcase how Earth Observation data and Big Data approaches turn into actionable intelligence. Within this context, the SDGs-EYES Climate Security Pilot will be presented as a concrete example, demonstrating how EO-based analytics can support the monitoring of Sustainable Development Goals.
We invite all participants to visit the common booth at BiDS 2025:
