SDGs-EYES methodology
SDGs-EYES aimed at bringing together research and industry experts together with different stakeholders communities to build a scientific, technological and user engagement framework for monitoring SDGs indicators.
The novelty relied on the designing and developing of a scientific and technological framework to build robust, reliable and accurate indicators.
This was possible through aggregating and processing Earth Observation (EO) – that included satellite, in-situ, data analytics and numerical models’ data – provided by the Copernicus’s six core services and the space and in-situ components.
By building iteratively the Platform prototype and showcasing the capabilities of the SDGs monitoring framework, the project gathered feedback from the end-users and shaped new products to maximise their uptake and impact following the agile methodology.
The SDGs-EYES Platform was developed by starting from the use cases selected in five pilots for demonstration, evaluation and assessment.
