Information pursuant to Article 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and to Article 15 of Regulation (EU) 2018/1725 (EUDPR).

 

This information notice is addressed to those who are interested in taking part in the SDGs-EYES project, funded by the European Union. In this project, the following partners are involved, acting as Joint Data Controllers:

SDGs-EYES partners ensure that processing activities will take place in compliance with Regulation 2016/679 (so-called GDPR) and with Regulation (EU) 2018/1725 (so-called EUDPR). Therefore, the processing of data will be based on the principles of fairness, lawfulness, transparency, restriction of processing and protection of confidentiality, using methods suitable to guarantee the security of your data.
In order for you to freely decide whether or not to take part in the activities, it is important that you understand what the purpose of the project is and how your data will be used.

Project Description and purposes 

This project is aimed at boosting the European capacity for monitoring the SDGs based on Copernicus through building a portfolio of decision-making tools to monitor the selected SDG indicators related to the environment from an inter-sectoral perspective, aligning with the EU Green Deal priorities and challenges. The purposes for which your data will be processed, therefore, are research and dissemination of the results. To this end, the data will be disseminated only in a strictly anonymous and/or aggregate form and in any case in a manner that does not make the data subject identifiable.

For the development of this project, the involvement of stakeholders is crucial. The following data will be requested:

  • Name and surname.
  • Email address.
  • Organisation Name. 
  • Role in the organisation.

SDGs-EYES partners can:

  1. Collect and archive data.
  2. Manage contacts for sending communications and scientific updates.
  3. Sending project updates, questionnaires, newsletters, and invitations to events and/or workshops.

The lawfulness of the processing activities will be granted by Article 6.1(a) of the GDPR and by Article 5.1(d) of the EUDPR (consent to the processing of personal data for one or more specific purposes).

Automated Decision Making

SDGs-EYES project does not involve any automated decision making.

Recipients and data transfer

This data may only be shared with the project partners, identified in the previous section. Each data controller ensures that its personnel is duly informed and authorised to process data.
They will not be disseminated or shared with third parties or transferred outside of the EU, unless required by law.

Retention Period

They will be kept for the period strictly necessary to achieve the objectives of the project and the accountability period set by the granting authority mentioned in the project grant agreement. At the end of the project (scheduled for 31.12.2025) and after the additional five years accountability period (5 years after the end of the project), the data will be destroyed unless you explicitly consent to their re-use in other research projects by the partners.
Appropriate measures will be taken to prevent loss, theft, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration and destruction of data.

Rights of the Data Subjects

In accordance with current legislation, every data subject has the rights granted by articles 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22 of the GDPR and 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22 and 23 of the EUDPR.

The data subjects have a right to file a complaint with the relevant Supervisory Authority if the data subject considers that the processing of personal data breaches the data subject’s rights pursuant to applicable law.
